Hotels

Over the years our travels have changed from $20 a night rooms (though they were still hotels, thanks Vegas for the great value, and not backpackers) to luxury hotels. We do still stay at cheap and cheerful disastrous hotels every now and then. It just so happens we have found value in loyalty programs. Going from 100% self-funded travellers to travel is required as part of work we have managed to capitalise on rewards points. We still spend roughly the same amount per year on travel, we just get to do it more often or in nicer resorts or both. In amongst the below will be some hotels where I received a travel agent discount. Aman and Six Senses hotels along with the Beverly Hills Hotel, Coworth Park and The Goring are the main hotels where I received a discount. Such wonderful properties and hugely appreciative of the discounts, some were in line with low season pricing – we travelled in peak season – or just 10% off the published rate. Moving to Singapore

After years of talking about it, we finally moved from Sydney. The process took longer than we expected so we actually moved out of our apartment Sydney about 5 months earlier than we needed to. What a great way to start the adventure. Triston had to fly from Sydney to Parkes each week. One of the most unexpected things that came from our move was applying for and being accepted on House Hunters International. You can read about that process here.
