Mail delivered on a Sunday

So in Australia we barely have Saturday delivery. It is rare.

Yet, today, Sunday the 22nd of December I had an alert that a package I posted was on board for delivery.

Odd. I thought the tracking system was not built well enough to differentiate between a regional check point and local post office for delivery.

I thought it was super weird so I googled to see if any announcements were made about weekend deliveries. Fires and Christmas may have triggered it but I really don’t know.

An It glitch seemed more likely than anything else. Yet. Later I got confirmation.

Another update. The item was delivered. Perplexed I checked with the recipient. A friend since high school. Maybe the system meant the package had been transferred to the local post office ready for delivery tomorrow.

No. It arrive and she very much liked the package. Wow. Sunday.
