So, I booked tickets to see Queen at Madison Square Garden in August. We debated about sitting up on the stage, the tickets left for that were hard to come by. So we settled for New York as those dates worked well with catching other acts around the same time. Metallica in Vienna and Foo Fighters in Belfast. All part of one trip.
The other day we went to Hong Kong and on the plane ride back TW wanted us both to watch Bohemian Rhapsody so we could get a taste of what we will see. I booked Queen because I re-watched all of Glee, I am a Gleek and Adam Lambert is singing with Queen. We missed it last time around, so off we go this time.
TW was mocking me when I
We watched the movie and he has been in love with it ever since. Watching old videos on Youtube. Being sad that Freddie Mercury died and we don’t get to see him. I reminded him, Queen played in Sydney not that long ago and we didn’t go. Likely because we knew nothing about it. The only reason we are going to this show is – it is Queen and Adam Lambert. Two for one.
To say he is excited now is an understatement. He does wish we sprung for on the stage seats but convinces himself that being part of the crowd will capture the audience energy more. We were too late for good tickets in New York, we couldn’t have sat on the stage there even if we wanted to. And the few cities that had two seats left on the stage were kind of really inconvenient.
I would have loved to go to the show in New Orleans but then we couldn’t see the Foo Fighters. It would have been too long away from home. This way works best. We get 6 days in New York, straight over to Vienna and then up to Belfast before coming home. Nice tight concert schedule so we aren’t away for too long. We haven’t been to Vienna or Belfast before. Finally, I get to go to Ireland, if only for 2 nights.
So excited for the trip. Super excited. Foo Fighters was TW’s one request for a concert, Metallica and Queen were my picks. He is now far more excited about Queen than I could have expected. His excitement for the concert is more than mine and more than his own for the Foo Fighters, his one adamant selection.
Completing our bucket list, one day at a time. Every day is a great day when you do what you love.
Any tips for New York, Vienna, Belfast, Madison Square Garden or any other suggestions? Please feel free to let us know 🙂 We have been to New York before. TW once, myself twice but not when we could afford to do things and not for very long. So 6 days is an eternity compared to previously and any personal favourite hot spots, let us know and we will add them to our list.
