Singapore will you miss me?

TW and the Merlion

Is expat living in Singapore what I expected? … Yeah pretty much. We have been here six weeks. TW has already had one work trip to Bangkok. Now that the office is ramping back up he has another work trip.

The trip is to Bangkok again and sadly he has to work on his birthday. I don’t think either of us saw that coming. We were planning a 4 day weekend to the Maldives, good thing we didn’t pay – work duties call.

Change of plans. Now, we are going to Thailand for his birthday. Phuket and Hua Hin. Bangkok is going to be purely about work. We are staying at the Park Hyatt as a treat. Well it was the cheaper option this time. It should be nice.

Let me drink from the fountain.

After spending so long in the Andaz he qualified as a globalist. This is pretty good because we now get free lounge access. If the hotel doesn’t have a lounge we get full breakfast. He is also front of the line for a free upgrade. Fingers crossed there is a nice suite available. Oh, he is able to be upgraded to suites for free as well – so that is super.

We will be 20 days into the year with 9 of them in Thailand. Does that even count as living in Singapore? He can whinge as much as he wants about our cute little flat. I don’t think he will be here much. FYI most of his whinging is actually about his bad sleep habits but he blames the apartment.

Singapore, will you miss us? Will you miss me? TW will be here far less than I am, it seems.

Best to get the long trip out of the way before our cat comes. Speaking of cat, I better get the forms in!
