Honeymoon days 11 to 13

Waking up in Quebec was a great feeling. We could take our time with everything today. Our road trip is now basically over and it has been the first time since we left Vancouver that we really could just relax. We didn’t want to see much more than the old town itself and we saw almost all of it last night while deciding where to have dinner. At some point we have to drive to Montreal but it is just a few hours drive and check in isn’t until the afternoon anyway so we aren’t even thinking about any of that yet. Oversleeping was a bit of an issue until now, we had always planned to be on the road by 7 and then we were waking up at 9am or 10am and feeling behind before we got started. Obviously we needed the sleep at the time though so we couldn’t be too disappointed and the sun was always up very late. Our days were just thrown off. Today is no different. A nice 11am …

Honeymoon: 48-72 Hours

For dinner, while TW still wasn’t feeling well we were trying to find simple foods. Knowing Shore Fyre was no longer the go to for us. I googled: “steak rice salad Oahu” and sure enough 2 minutes from our hotel was a place called The Steak Shack. This sounded enough like blazing steak to coax TW away from the safety of the hotel and bathroom. It was a shack-esque outlet right on the beach. Steak or chicken, rice and salad. We will have 2 steaks please. TW couldn’t get through it all but it was what we were after. It had been a big day of not a whole lot so I think we were off to sleep about 8pm. In the morning, TW still was not feeling like much food. About lunch time we went for a walk. I got sunburnt and TW got sick of walking. We were going to look at Kaka’ako graffiti art. We got an uber back as soon as we found the first building with something pretty on it. …

Honeymoon: 24-48 hours

The day we landed was a very very long day. I had a lunch and site inspection booked for The Modern Hotel. TW was invited to the lunch and I thought he might actually enjoy snooping around the hotel. I get a lot of flak for being a snoop but his is almost as bad as me, maybe worse, rather than snoop himself he hopes I will so I can tell him all of my findings without going to any effort himself. I protest being called a snoop, for the most part I am actually interested in others lives and wish them the best. I compete with no one, we can all have amazing lives and I love to hear everyones stories. I went alone while TW rested. He enjoyed being left in piece. I was gone for two hours. Sadly I was starting to feel the affects of the long day before we left Sydney, the flight and the 6 hours since we landed at Honolulu. I forgot to take any photos. Of anything. …

Honeymoon first 24 hours

It isn’t every day you go on your honeymoon and while I have been accused of having too many holidays (in general and also to fancy/luxury places) that I will have spoiled expectations of my honeymoon and the pressure will be on to outdo a “normal” holiday for us. Well, I had been ill and reassessed my life and direction so I embarked on a new adventure and our honeymoon moved from 9 months to plan to 2 weeks. We had flights booked to Hawaii but changed the dates so we could go between my work adventures. Hawaii and Canada. Minds made up. 16 days was too long for Hawaii and we have never been to Canada so it seemed like a great plan to split the stay. We would fly in to Honolulu, stay 3 nights but 4 full days due to flight times, then fly on to Vancouver. From there we have a hire car booked to drop off 8 days later in Montreal, a flight from Montreal to Maui for 2 nights …
